Finding things

Why is it, that when one wants to find something, it is often the very thing that remains elusive? With new neighbours next door, I have for some time, been meaning to show them photos of how their section used to look before the previous owners wreaked havoc on it.

I had recently seen the photos I wanted to show them, yet when I opened up my pictures section and went to the most obvious folder, they were nowhere to be found. I looked in garden, outside house, other, rainbows, anywhere I thought the pictures may be. But to no avail. I have no idea where else to look. All I know is that I saw them the other day. I do know some of them may be on my previous computer but these are not the ones I am looking for.

How many times in life does that happen to us? We see something, then search for it later, only to not be able to find it. And when we have had a tidy up, that is even worse. Where did I put that item? I knew where it was before, but where is it now? So frustrating.

The annoying thing this morning was that I had the neighbours here in the house. ‘’I’ll turn on my computer and show you those photos,’’ I said. Then I couldn’t find them. However, I do now have their email and can forward them on should they show up.

I am a person who takes heaps of shots of the same thing, hoping to get one decent photo. Only problem is, I don’t delete the others. It is another chore I mean to do, later of course. So that means that I have screeds of photos to search through, and waiting for them to show on the screen, is what takes the time.

Speaking of other computers, I do need to remove my photos from the last computer before it is too late. I also have a horde on my old laptop, the device before the last computer, which I think may be irretrievable. I must take the laptop to an expert to see if they can be saved. I had some lovely pics of a kaka beak in flower, and family members, of course. It is a shame if I have lost all of those photos from 15 years ago. That is one of the disadvantages of not printing them out these days. I don’t save my work to cloud but I do have a backup hard drive.

I just had another thought, maybe those elusive pictures were on Facebook. That will be my next task.

Time to start searching again.
