Feeling uneasy

I have been updating my blog Done (8/1/23) in the comment’s section of that blog.

I felt some relief yesterday when my email was replied to and I was given an option of a 50% refund on my order, whilst still receiving the product. I opted for this choice as I was told the product had already been shipped and I would need to return it first before going to another area to find the process to get my money back. That option sounded too complicated. At least this way, I could still try the product for an amazing price (their words). Remember, I only wanted one bottle for what I thought was $39.95, not five bottles that would come to more than $200 but really ended up costing $420 because the amount was in US dollars and a mysterious second charge of $71 was also added to the original amount, the next day.

But I figured I could handle a bill of $200 and I wouldn't feel so ripped off as I did paying $420.

But here's the catch. In their email, the pleasantly-sounding customer-service representative, Jay, said the 50% refund would be applied that day (yesterday). The money has still not arrived. Am I feeling unnecessarily concerned? The whole process is leaving an uneasy feeling inside me. I can't quite relax. I felt so much relief yesterday after the company's email. I checked my bank account many times yesterday and have done so today as well. Maybe our two understandings of 'refund being applied today' are different. To me, I thought that would mean, money in my account today, but for them, perhaps, it is the first step in a lengthy process that could take weeks for the money to be returned. They didn't seem to have any problem dispatching their product (or so they said). Putting money back into my account is obviously a different story.

I guess I should be grateful that the company is giving me this option. But until I see the money in my account, I won't be able to relax.

And as I mentioned in the Done blog, I will have to make sure that I never repeat this mistake. This company is unethical in its selling method, but only a fool is sucked in twice. Let's hope the damned stuff works.
