Busy time
We have had a busy weekend, with Stephen’s old friends visiting from the lower North Island. We have stayed with them twice now, so it was good having them come and stay with us for a change. Of course, the weather had to change from the magnificently warm spell to a cold, westerly wind for their arrival, but at least the rain waited until after they had gone. We took them to some of the lovely beaches and had a long walk down one of them, along with their dog, Black.
And then it was Stephen’s and my seven-year anniversary last night and so a trip to the same Thai restaurant where we had our first date, was in order. Coincidentally, we were seated in the same place as we were back then.
But to top all of this off, I have been battling a chest infection for the last eight days. It didn’t seem like much initially, but over the weekend I really felt it, with bouts of coughing keeping me awake at night. Day times I am fine though. Thankfully, no one else seems to have caught it, Stephen in particular. That’s twice now, where I have got sick and he hasn’t. I think some immune boosting food is in order for me.
I have been accepted for the Pukekohe Mind, Body, Spirit event as well, being held on September 16 and 17 and have booked a lovely little cottage for us to stay in. Genevieve and Willow will be joining us once again. It is the first time I have used Airbnb and I did have some problems with the first place I tried to secure, but thankfully this one allowed me to book it. I have asked for another speaking spot, so will have to put a speech together in the next week or so – a busy time coming up.
Chiara will be returning this week as well and I have a pre-paid healing, with the person only being here this week, so I expect to hear from her some time, too.
A daddy long leg spider has just lowered itself in front of my computer screen. In my pack of cards, The Animal-Wise Tarot by Ted Andrews, the spider equates to the High Priestess. Here is a quote. Spiders do a great deal of their weaving in the dark and out of sight, reminding us of how to express our creative energies… weave your creative energies in the dark and when the sun hits them, they will glisten with intricate beauty. Spider teaches us to trust the subtle perceptions we experience, showing that there is more depth and more activity beneath the surface. They encourage us to use our creative opportunities and, by doing so, we take our fate back within our own hands.
Having just written that I have a speech to prepare and I that I have been waking through the night with the coughing, I feel the timing of this spider is to tell me that that is the time to think about what I will say in this talk and that is exactly what I have been doing, once again confirmation for me that I am on the right track. I did also wonder whether I wanted to talk at this event, but this spider’s message is encouraging me to use my creative opportunities, more confirmation once again.
As Ted Andrews points out in his book, Animal Speak, nature has so many lessons for us if we will only take the time to notice them – what we see, numbers, colours etc. I am thankful I have been alerted to this wisdom and can also use it in my everyday life. That spider shouldn’t have even been in this room and it is certainly the first time one has abseiled down in front of my computer screen while I have been working there.
Normally, the vacuum cleaner would be coming out about now, but I think, this time I will let the critter be.
